FAQ
Answers to your frequently asked tattoo questions
Where are you located?
Ellipsis Tattoo, my private appointment-only studio, is located in Tallebudgera (Gold Coast, Queensland). I work alongside some truly talented artists and I’m excited to show you the space we create in.

Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, a deposit secures your booking. The ‘Pricing’ page has more information about deposits and you’ll receive policies on this at the time of booking.
How can I pay for my tattoo?
Bank transfers and cash payments are accepted only.
Why haven’t you responded to my booking email?
If my reply is not in your junk folder, I will be replying shortly.
Can I see the design before the appointment? And what if I want to make any changes?
I usually work on the design the weekend prior to our appointment date. Depending on how happy I am with it and if I feel I need to make further revisions, I will send the design a couple of days before the appointment where possible, however in most cases it will be the night before the appointment. This ensures the design represents my best creative work, so your patience and trust is appreciated.
I always allow changes and your right to not get something tattooed on you, so please do speak up if something is not your taste at any stage of the process. We will go over the design in the morning and make any adjustments you’d like to make, however lengthy changes will cut into our tattoo time, so it’s important that all the information and your favourite references are sent to me prior to the design date.
Can I bring a friend/partner with me to my appointment?
The space does allow company, but limit your companion to a single person where possible as distractions can alter the quality and amount of work we get done. As this is an experience requiring a large amount of time/focus/energy, I ask that no children accompany you to your appointment.
Do you accept walk-in appointments?
I only accept pre-booked appointments.
Do you use vegan ink?
I use the highest quality vegan and eco-friendly products throughout the tattoo process.
Can I use numbing cream?
Numbing cream comes with poor healing, the potential for less work getting finished in a session, and increased trauma to the skin.
Numbing creams bought online are prohibited to be used in my sessions, as these come with a wide array of extra complications.
If you’d like to use numbing cream for our sessions, please contact me to arrange options for this.
Is there anyone you can't tattoo?
By law I cannot tattoo anyone under the age of 18, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or anyone under the influence of drugs/alcohol. I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, under any condition, at any time.
A consent form must be filled out and signed (with your ID sighted) for all appointments, including touchups.
Do you do coverups?
Coverups are possible, however this will depend on your tattoo and what you hope to cover it with. I recommend laser to remove or lighten your tattoo prior to covering it, as this allows for a broader range of design potential, however in some cases tattoos can be quite easy to cover as they are.
Enquire here with your cover-up request.
Can you rework/finish my existing/old tattoo?
I prefer to avoid working with existing tattoos, however some tattoos are easier to work with than others and can still create a great final result.
Enquire with your rework request and I will get back to you about the possibility of working with your tattoo.
How soon can I book in?
You can find my available dates, as well as any travel dates, in the highlights tab of my Instagram profile.
What should I do before I come in for my appointment?
Please mark your appointment in your calendar to avoid forgetting/missing it and losing your deposit.
Eat a hearty breakfast and hydrate as the morning can be long. The studio has complimentary snacks/drinks available and a fridge/microwave. There’s a supermarket and food outlets available on site for lunch options.
